Jordan Wright and Mitchell Baldock were certainly celebrating on Monday night after the pair won £20,000 on a bet for Leicester City to win the Premier League.
However this was not your typical bet!
The firefighters believed that the had put £5 each on Leicester to win their first game of the season and that a problem with BetFred’s system had resulted in the odds being so high.
However the duo quickly realized their mistake and were the subject of plenty of mocking from their friends… until Leicester began to make a shock title challenge.
“It was when they won 3-1 against Manchester City – that’s when I started thinking we had a real chance of winning!” said Wright.
He continued, “Everyone loves an underdog so it was nice to see them win.
“Every Premier League team wanted them to win, too – no-one will begrudge them for it.”
It is certainly fair to say that the duo have pulled off the luckiest bet ever made!
