The Spanish side arrived for their final Euro 2016 warm up game against Georgia in Madrid confident of securing one final confidence boost before the tournament kicks off on Friday.
Spain had eased to a 6-0 victory over Luxemburg in their last game and were unbeaten in over a year. Their opponents on the other hand had came nowhere near to qualifying for Euro 2016 and were languishing down in 137th place in the World Rankings.
Nevertheless Georgia pulled off one of the most surprising results in recent years as they edged to a shock 1-0 win thanks to Tornike Okriashvili’s first half strike.
The Genk midfielder capitalised on a poor back pass from Jordi Alba to finish brilliantly past David De Gea and send shockwaves across the footballing world.
After this humbling defeat the Spanish side will certainly have to quickly pick themselves up in time for their first group game against Czech Republic on Monday!
