THE first ever FA Cup final took place in 1872 at the Oval Cricket Ground. Wanderers FC became the first winners of the competition thanks to a 1-0 win over the Royal Engineers. Only 2,000 spectators were in attendance and, although still in existence, a reformed Wanderers FC now play in the Surrey South Eastern Combination.
