THE period from 1978 to 1980 was frustrating for Leicester City supporters. Not only did the Foxes finish bottom of the old First Division during the same season that bitter rivals Nottingham Forest were crowned champions, but Leicester then spent two years in the second tier, losing to Non-League Harlow in the FA Cup, while Forest won back-to-back European Cups.
In May 1980, Leicester won the Second Division title and promotion back to the top flight.
