After Arsenal were comprehensively beaten 3-1 on the opening day of this season by Aston Villa, I was returning from Pilkington FC after playing on a wet afternoon in St Helens listening to 606 on 5Live. As expected it was full of irate Gunners giving it the ‘big un’ about how Arsene Wenger didn’t know what he was doing and needs to spend some ‘bees n honey’.
