ASHLEY GREB laments the circus surrounding the January transfer window

OF all the months in the year, I really bloody hate January. This isn’t just a middle-aged grumble about the weather while tugging on an unkempt beard. It’s not because another Christmas has passed where Santa left only socks, and it’s certainly not because we all have to go back to work (although that is fairly rubbish). I hate January for the faux optimism that surrounds the transfer window.
