WHAT’S killing football? Some say diving. Others say money. Quite a lot say Sky. Me, I think it’s the substitute goalkeeper.
Remember the good old days when you only had one sub? (Yes, granddad, I know there was a time when there were none, but that was also the time when you could head butt the keeper for a laugh so it doesn’t count).
Back then, managers needed an option on the bench – a winger or a striker. Just ask Reading boss Brian McDermott, who spent about five years solid as Arsenal’s No.12.
