History has a habit of repeating itself and that has certainly transpired at Old Trafford when it comes to replacing iconic football managers.

In particular, Manchester United have discovered that it is extremely difficult to appoint successors to managers like Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson.
Those two managers oversaw 18 of United's 20 top-flight titles and each of their three European Cup triumphs in 1968, 1999. and 2008.
