HIDDEN JOYS OF FOOTBALL IN VIETNAM

CHRIS FOOTE misses his flight home yet all is well when he finally finds a game to watch in Hanoi

Whenever I travel abroad I always see if there’s any local football on and try and catch a game. So when my girlfriend Sarah and I travelled to Vietnam for a two week holiday I had scanned websites for hours before we left but nothing seemed to fit in with our travel plans round the country.
And once there none of the locals seemed to know either. If asked about football matches in the area they wouldn’t have a clue and instead would try and talk to me about Barcelona, Man Unit...
