“REEFFF?!” wailed the prone forward flailing his arms about like rogue fire-hoses. “GET UP AND GET AT ‘EM, BIG MAN,” came back the retort in a thick Irish brogue.
In fairness, through a crowd of players, the ref couldn’t have seen the (very minor) contact from the keeper’s boot as they leapt together for the high cross but, from behind the goal, I saw it all.
