DID YOU KNOW: On Christmas Day 1935, Oldham beat Tranmere 4-1 in the old Third Division North. Big deal. But the return game came on Boxing Day, as was the custom then, and Tranmere gained revenge to the tune of 13-4. Robert ‘Bunny’ Bell scored nine in the Prenton Park game … and missed a penalty.
